ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

Taking responsibility together – for children and young people worldwide

The KAP Foundation supports children and young people both close to home and around the world – with the goal of making education accessible, strengthening families and opening up paths to a better future for young people.

VISION & MISSION

Education, care and hope

Vision

We envision a world in which every child has access to education, care and hope, regardless of their background or circumstances. That is why we want to give young people and families courage and open up new opportunities for them.

Mission

The KAP Foundation supports children and young people in difficult life situations through targeted measures and helps gifted young people develop their full potential. We create prospects for a future that begins here, locally, and reaches out into the world.

PURPOSE OF THE FOUNDATION

Support where it is truly needed

The foundation's central goal is to support the care of children with severe physical and psychological illness and to promote highly gifted young people.

To this end, we want, on the one hand, to award scholarships to highly gifted pupils and students, doctoral candidates and post-docs. On the other hand, we support the care of severely ill and traumatized children – either directly or by supporting suitable projects at clinical institutions or children's hospices. For these purposes, the foundation supports organizations and institutions that work for the public benefit toward these goals.

HISTORY

The founding of the KAP Foundation

The KAP Foundation was founded by Karl-Heinz and Anneliese Pfisterer.

Karl-Heinz Pfisterer was, for many years, the third-generation managing director and is today Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board and major shareholder of the internationally active PFISTERER Holding SE, a technology company specializing in connection and contact technology for power grids. It is close to his heart to channel his entrepreneurial experience and social responsibility into a charitable commitment with long-term impact.

Karl-Heinz Pfisterer has no children of his own. His wish is that the company's success, in the form of dividends, should later help give children and young people a better future.

From this personal initiative, an internationally active foundation quickly developed, one whose projects bring together education, health and social support – driven by the conviction that real progress only comes about when it benefits everyone.

Karl-Heinz-Pfisterer-1

„I have seen for myself how much a safe place and a helping hand can achieve. We believe in the power of opportunity, education and a sense of security – because every young person deserves the chance to find their own path.“

— Karl‑Heinz Pfisterer, Founder
